My musical idol.

My dad and I have always loved Dave Grohl and the Foo Fighters.

So, for Easter this year, I decided to pull out some skills
I haven't used in years and drew this.

I'm pretty happy with it :)

I think I'm going to try drawing a set of my idols.

Proving why I should stick to watercolours...

I found some incredible bits of broken shell and coral over the weekend
when I went away to Port Hughes.

I thought I'd take them home and have a go at drawing them.

I knew they'd be pretty terrible, but not this bad...

But hey, at least I got some cool colour schemes out of it!
PS. white is in most of those colour schemes but due to dodgy photography, you can't see it.

I think it's best if I stick to water colours and not attempt drawing real objects.

Since my last post..

I was spoilt over Christmas.

My amaaaazing boyfriend bought me the most amazing box of
Derwent Artist Pencils.
72 new babies to add to my collection!

I've yet to use them properly as I'm a little bit nervous to taint the perfection
they currently hold in the shiny wooden box.
But I'm so keen to use them!

I've even created a colour chart on black and white paper
just to show myself how each colour looks for when I do get too keen and use them.

So yeah, I'm pretty lucky!
Hopefully I'll created some masterpieces with them soon enough :)

floral inspirations.

This started as a spiral.
It ended as a flower.
I think I'm going to frame it for my little cousin.

trails of blue.

I started scribbling the other day and somehow came up with this:
a trail of stones or ovals or something.
It's a spiral of blue - the colour of calm.

hey there, bright colours.

This is the piece I finished the other day that was still drying.
The colours seriously brighten my day every time I look at them.
(Keep in mind they do look a tad different to me in real life than in this photo.)

It kind of reminds me of the Olympic Torch, too.

my day with anthony.

Today I spent a few hours with the lovely Anthony.
We painted and ate lots of junk food.
And it was lovely.

These are a few things I came up with.

There is one more, but it's still drying.
That'll get posted later.

Thank you for a wonderful day, Anthony!
